The Bedtime Train came out in 2008 and so these are a bit older but I have always likes these paintings.  I spent the morning putting together a portfolio for application to a few professorships and decided to post these here.

This is what happens when you use a program to create a font with your own handwriting…I will never, ever, ever type in any other font ever again!! Wait…

More redbirds.  These are for my town library who always seems to like to employ my services whenever they need a doodle or two for a cool project.  This one being their new website.

I think I described this well enough in the post title…not feeling very clever tonight.

Stickfiguratively Speaking this project is becoming more enjoyable but still quite weighty.  Sometimes I wish I did not have so much respect for the original, but alas…who doesn’t?  I can only hope that my interpretation of all that belongs to Alice can hold the attention of those who view it.  So, that being said–no Pool Of Tears tonight as I live in the DEEP shadow of Tenniel for another a.m. session.

Right after Miss Liddell has decided to follow the rabbit down his hole.  These drawings are becoming such a source of excitement and satisfaction for me–as I can do them in a snap.  Currently, working out the dimensions of the what the finished project will end up and creating some concept/promo art.

Working on a new project that will have a release date of SOON!  I’ll be posting a good amount of work from my little deconstructing wonderland book.  Anyhoo…

Nothing all that interesting…just the world in which I reside…

The imposing statue of Roger Contant stands in the square of the New England town he founded.  This image has always lurked in a small corner of my mind.  I have seen it through childhood visits, high school field trips and then university sketching jaunts.  Now, the events of the year 1692 will not only be a topic I have strong interest in but it looks as though they will be my next project.  And as my fellow author/illustrator(and friend) Timothy Decker did on his blog with the year 1722…1692 is all you will get.

I‘m a huge fan of the woodcuts of Hans Holbein.  I try to use compositions of masters in my work and have this plan to have done each woodcut from Holbein’s book Dance Of Death in my work before it is my time to dance.  Above is something that I just did for a fundraiser at The Silvermine Arts Guild in New Canaan, CT.  Below is I have posted before but it’s topical.  It’s a hidden picture illustration that I made last year for a children’s magazine.  So now–I am at 2 with many more to go.
